Elizabeth K. Gainer, MS, NCC, LMHC

Elizabeth K. Gainer is a Board Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors and a Certified Pastoral Counselor through the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She is licensed by the State of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Lic. #MH20707). Ms. Gainer is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). Ms. Gainer is an ACPE Psychotherapist.

Ms. Gainer received her B.A. from the University of Florida, Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. She began practicing psychotherapy in Baltimore, Maryland.

She specializes in providing spiritually integrative psychodynamic counseling to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, loss & grief, transitional issues, and crises of meaning in life. Her approach helps clients identify what is not working in their lives and enables change of destructive emotional patterns, clearing the way for the individual growth and adoption of new, more effective life skills.

Ms. Gainer is a member of and active in many local organizations in Jacksonville including the Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the Women’s Giving Alliance, OneJax, and Palms Presbyterian Church where she serves as a deacon. Ms. Gainer serves on the Board of Advisors for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the Board of Directors for the New World School of the Arts Alumni Foundation in Miami, Florida.

Ms. Gainer is happily married with two grown sons and an adorable Brittany Spaniel named Alli. In her free time she enjoys all things outdoors—especially hiking and open water swimming, travel, and is involved in the arts community.
